With bountiful thanks to the people of the Dix Hills (NY) Fire District, an existing fire house will be upgraded and a new building will be built. The net result? The residents of Dix Hills, some 29,000 in all, will be safer. Hundreds of thousands of daily commuters and travelers will be safer. And firefighters and emergency personnel will be safer. All thanks to the voters who showed their enthusiasm for the project at a series of meetings leading up to the voting and at the polls. And especially to the Board of Directors who worked so hard and so diligently: Commissioners Bob Commisso, Mike Plumitallo, Larry Feld, Todd Cohen and Phil Tepe. Also thanks to DHFD District Manager Scott Dalrymple and the many supporters within the department. Congratulations on a job extremely well done fellas!
