D&B Engineers and Architects Expands, Hiring Four New Employees
Matthew Alvarado of Levittown, NY, Alexis Bruno of Ronkonkoma, NY, Nick Sugumele of West Islip, NY, and Robert Tschiember of East Meadow, NY Join the D&B Team
D&B Engineers and Architects, a leading engineering and consulting firm specializing in wastewater, water supply, hazardous waste, construction management, architecture, solid waste and civil and environmental engineering, has expanded its employee roster with the hiring of four new employees: Matthew Alvarado, Alexis Bruno, Nick Sugumele, and Robert Tschiember.

Matthew Alvarado of Levittown, NY joins D&B Engineers and Architects in their Woodbury, NY office from New York’s prestigious Manhattan College at Riverdale. Mr. Alvarado earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Civil Engineering and Minor in Mathematics, concurrently passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and maintaining an OSHA30 certification. Mr. Alvarado is also heavily involved in his church community and charity work, recently participating in a missionary trip to Cuba in March 2023.
Ronkonkoma, NY’s Alexis Bruno graduated the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2020, Majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Environmental Studies, where she also became a member of the SUNY New Paltz chapter of Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a nonprofit children’s charity. Prior to joining D&B, Ms. Bruno most recently held the position of Field Services Project Scientist with Ronkonkoma, NY’s Enviroscience Consultants LLC.
Nick Sugumele of West Islip, NY joins D&B Engineers and Architects from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition to his academic achievements, Mr. Sugumele brings experience from his time as an Air Quality Technician, engaging in testing in the field and holds a New York State asbestos handling certification.
A 2022 graduate of the University of Vermont, Robert Tschiember of East Meadow, NY joins the D&B roster in Woodbury, New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering with a strong focus on water and wastewater engineering. Mr. Tschiember previously spent time as a Water Supply Intern working with D&B Engineers and Architects in 2019.
