Designed to assist teachers, biomedical equipment technicians, and engineers, this library helps technicians learn essential skills like how to troubleshoot an autoclave, how to calibrate a ventilator, how to understand the physics of hearing, or how to manage finances. The BMET library is a rapidly expanding project, with new books, articles, and diagrams added monthly. Users can even download a personal copy of the library, by visiting the “Download Library” page!

EWH’s resident librarian, Cassandra Stanco, noted, “hospitals in the developing world suffer from chronic shortage of supplies, broken medical devices, and lack of technical information. Our goal is to create a one-stop shop to enable professionals to self-educate and to get their equipment back in service.”

EWH strives to inspire, educate, and empower the biomedical engineering community in developing countries by providing resources for professional growth and support for training programs in countries like Rwanda, Honduras, Ghana, Cambodia, Nigeria, and Ethiopia.
