In an important development, the Dix Hills Fire District Newsletter recently reported a major event for the betterment of the community and the safety of firefighters and residents alike. The DHFD unveiled a plan to rebuild the aging Headquarters building, add capacity and demonstrated financial accountability with a plan that does not increase property taxes. Projected to cost $8 million, the project is seriously checkbook friendly. According to the Newsletter, “Financing provides for loan payments to be made from the District’s operating budget, meaning there will be no property tax increase resulting from this project…ever!”
Congratulations to the DHFD for finding the best way to help all involved and to hurt none. Read more about the good news via the attached link. Hill FD news Spring 2016 Final
