Other social media platforms launched in the years after including Friendster in 2002, LinkedIn in 2003, both MySpace and Facebook in 2004, YouTube in 2005, Twitter in 2006, Instagram in 2010, Snapchat in 2011 and most recently TikTok in 2016.

It’s difficult to assess the impact these platforms have had on individuals and businesses over the years, but it is safe to say that social media has become engrained in the fabric of our society and has changed the way we do business.
