Hicksville Student Awarded Nicholas J. Bartilucci Manhattan College Scholarship From
Nassau Suffolk Water Commissioners’ Association

 

Hicksville, NY ; April 28, 2021 – The Nassau Suffolk Water Commissioners’ Association (NSWCA) has awarded its prestigious 2021 Nicholas J. Bartilucci Manhattan College Scholarship to Mr. Harkamal Randhawa of Hicksville, Long Island, New York. This annual scholarship is open to entering freshmen who are enrolled full-time in any engineering degree program at Manhattan College.

Mr. Randhawa was presented with the scholarship based on academic excellence. He thanked NSWCA and its members, stating I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honor and am deeply appreciative of your support. Since I first visited the campus a year ago, I have always wanted to attend Manhattan College and become part of the community here and, because of your support, my aspirations have grown even more. My family and I thank you so much for giving me this incredible opportunity.”

 

After finishing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Randhawa plans to work in the field and hopes to return to school for an advanced degree in architecture.

 

 

 

 

NSWCA President Amanda Field, Plainview Water District Commissioner, presided over the virtual ceremony and commented, “This scholarship honors the legacy of the late Jericho Water District Commissioner Nicholas J. Bartilucci, a highly respected figure in the Long Island water industry. By enabling outstanding engineering students such as Harkamal, the NSWCA continues to make Nick’s passion for engineering education, water sustainability and environmentalism a reality.”

President Field acknowledged the valued assistance and coordination of Mr. Raymond Averna, Massapequa Water District Commissioner and former NSWCA President, and Elizabeth Plaushin, Director of Planned Giving at Manhattan College, both of whom were instrumental in this year’s Nicholas J. Bartilucci Manhattan College Scholarship selection process.
